Due to the rising number of new COVID-19 cases in Poland, the Government decided to impose further restrictions in order to prevent the spread of the virus. Please notice that Łódź is in the RED ZONE starting tomorrow!
Please, note that according to the new rules, in the red zone all learning except for practical classes at Universities are to be done online. However, please also note that even though it is allowed, it is not a requirement, so please, follow the information we give you first – they are they most up-to-date. As you know some practical classes have already been cancelled due to safety reasons. Check your e-mails often.

A new map of the counties in thered zone and yellow zone is also always published on the Ministry of Health’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MZGOVPL. New rules – prevention against COVID-19 and new counties in the red zone

From October 17, we are introducing new tools to fight the coronavirus across the country. Depending on the development of the situation, we will react and introduce further restrictions.
Support for the elderly
One of our priorities is to ensure the safety of the most vulnerable – the elderly.
From Monday to Friday, from 10:00 to 12:00, only people over 60 years of age can visit the store, pharmacy and post office.
New security measures across the country
New security rules will apply across the country from Saturday, October 17th.
Yellow zone (the whole country, except counties from the red zone):
- restaurants may be open from 6:00 am – 9:00 pm. Every other table may be occupied. After 21:00 only take-away meals can be available;
- limit on the number of people in public transport – 50 percent of seats can be occupied or 30 percent of all the available space;
- from 19.10 – limited number of people at weddings and other celebrations – max. 20 people, no dancing possible;
- in religious ceremonies in places of worship max. 1 person per 4m2;
- public meetings may be attended by max. 25 people;
- hybrid teaching is obligatory at universities and secondary schools;
- sporting events without audience participation;
- during cultural events max. 25 percent of seats can be taken by the audience;
- suspended activities on swimming pools, aquaparks and gyms.
Red zone:
- limitation of the number of people in retail outlets depending on the size of the store: for stores up to 100 m2 – 5 people per cash register, and for stores over 100 m2 – 1 person per 15 m2;
- from October 19 – ban on the organization of special events (weddings, consolations and others);
- during religious ceremonies no more than 1 person per 7m2,
- public meetings may be attended by max. 10 people;
- remote teaching (excluding practical classes) is obligatory at universities and secondary schools.
In addition, the same safety rules apply in the red zone as in the yellow zone:
