Dear students,
Please see below updated Rector’s announcement regarding recent epidemiological situation as well as Sanitary Inspectorate’s recommendations as of 14th and 24th February.
To whom it may concern,
Due to numerous queries both from the students and University employees regarding epidemiological situation in the countries of South-East Asia as well as other parts of the world in which the cases of coronavirus 2019-nCoV infections have been observed, please be informed that the University is in close touch with State Sanitary Inspector in Łódź. Chief Sanitary Inspector’s recommendations ( as of 14th February and 24th February) are being followed.
People who have recently returned from the regions in which coronavirus infections were confirmed (even if they were in no contact with any sick persons, and feel well and healthy) are strongly advised to limit social interactions for 14 days (staying at home), monitor their health and constant contact with Sanitary Inspector. If you experience any respiratory symptoms within 14 days you should consult infectious diseases specialist.
Students of University of Lodz who are concerned, are kindly asked to contact academic teachers, and teachers are kindly requested for liberal and flexible approach to crediting the classes of students being in a high risk group.
Rector has decided that absences from classes will be justified based on documents confirming your foreign travels or stay in the high risk regions.
Calm and rational approach to the problem is highly recommended as well as not arousing the anxiety concerning new reports regarding the novel coronavirus.
This matter should be treated as urgent and very important.
Rector of Medical University of Lodz,
prof. dr hab. n.med. Radzisław Kordek
